CONCORDEMUSIC

50 original tunes for fiddle and accordion by one of Scotland's greatest players and composers...
Jim Johnstone writes: The music consists of tunes that I have composed over many years. The inspiration has been varied in a way that many of the titles are a result of my inclination to compose and name tunes after my many friends and colleagues that I have had the pleasure of meeting throughout my musical career. Others have been named after places which have some significance, mostly happy memories. The exceptions to this general format are tunes like 'Inveresk March', 'The Banks of the Nith' and 'Fisherrow Polka' which were composed for the BBC programme 'On Tour', also 'Pure Scotch Two-Step' which was commissioned by Radio Forth as a signature tune for their programme 'Pure Scotch'. Another commission was the 'Thingummyjig Polka' the signature tune for STV's popular series "Thingummyjiig'."
